DeTar Healthcare System is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to coordinate and schedule surgical procedures within our clinics in Victoria, TX. The role ensures accurate scheduling, proper documentation, and clear communication between patients, providers, and surgical teams.

You will handle pre-operative appointments, follow-ups, and coordination with facilities, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and accurate EHR entries. Strong customer service and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; relevant experience also considered.
• 1–3 years of medical scheduling or surgical coordination required.
• Experience in a clinical or hospital surgical scheduling environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules surgical procedures, pre-operative appointments, and follow-ups with surgeons and staff.
• Confirms surgery details with patients, including prep instructions and arrival times.
• Verifies insurance coverage and obtains prior authorizations as needed.
• Coordinates with facilities to ensure scheduling resources and protocol compliance.
• Enters procedures accurately into scheduling system and EHR.
• Provides excellent customer service and serves as patient contact for scheduling questions.
