Job summary

OrthoArizona is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to coordinate and manage surgical schedules across our orthopedic network in Phoenix. You will communicate with patients, staff, and physicians, verify records, and ensure smooth operations for upcoming procedures.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of medical scheduling experience, strong terminology knowledge, and excellent communication skills. We offer comprehensive benefits and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1-year experience of medical scheduling.
  • Prefer 2 years of experience surgery scheduling.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understand/Perform training on practice management software.
  • Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule surgeries.
  • Communicate necessary information to patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Verify necessary information and records information in patient's medical record.
  • Coordinate necessary equipment, surgical assists, and anesthesia relative to surgeries.
  • Maintain and updates physician's calendars.
  • Answer telephone, screens calls, clears voicemail, returns patient calls in a timely manner.
  • Answer questions regarding patient's upcoming surgeries.
  • Update patient information.
  • Prepare surgical packet materials.
  • Assist in training and orienting of new staff.

As a Surgery Scheduler with OrthoArizona, you will get to:
