Job summary

Mountain Management Services in Chattanooga is seeking a Scheduling Specialist to coordinate patient procedures and surgeries according to physician orders and schedule availability. You will work closely with physicians and staff to provide accurate, timely information in line with clinic policies.

The role includes scheduling appointments, pre-certifications, tests, and referrals, plus communicating instructions to patients and collecting insurance details and co-pays where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred 1+ years surgery scheduling or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments for patients, medical procedures, tests and studies ordered by physician.
• Answer phone calls and schedule patient appointments.
• Conduct patient pre-certification to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care.
• Schedule tests, procedures, and referral appointments.
• Communicate with patients regarding appointments and instructions for procedures and tests.
• Collect insurance information and patient personal data.
• May collect fees such as co-pays / co-insurance.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Scheduling Specialist you will use the utilization of clinical knowledge to schedule appropriate procedures/surgeries according to both the physician orders and schedule availability.

Every day you will work closely with physicians, physician office staff, and internal/external customers to provide accurate, timely, and responsive information in accordance with clinic core values and policies.

To be successful in this position you will schedule appointments for patients, medical procedures, tests and studies ordered by physician.
