Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Fontana, CA is seeking a Schedule Coordinator to manage the operating room and surgical scheduling process on-site. You will coordinate pre-operative appointments, notify and liaison with departments, and ensure timely patient communications.

The role requires strong organizational skills, typing speed, and knowledge of medical terminology. This is a temporary position expected to last about 6 months, located at Fontana and Ontario campuses.

Qualifications

Typing 25 wpm.
Passing Basic Computer Literacy Assessment.
Medical Terminology Test required.
Good telephone skills and experience.
Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationships.

Responsibilities

Upholds Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures and applicable laws.
Arranges special needs for surgery scheduling as ordered by physician.
Schedules cases per guidelines for OR blocks.
Notifies departments of scheduling details (Insurance, Pathology, Radiology, etc.).
Prints and distributes daily operating room schedules.
Handles patient cancellations and reschedules.
Sends preoperative appointment scheduling (CARE and INFORM).
Coordinates pre-op tests and clearances as needed.
Communicates surgical dates and appointments with patients and physicians.
