Job summary

BAS HealthCare in Meriden, CT is seeking a Physician Assistant specializing in Surgery to join an experienced team. Inpatient setting with first‑assist in the operating room and involvement in rounding, bedside procedures, and consults.

You will collaborate with surgeons across General, Robotic, Bariatric, Thoracic, Orthopedics, Vascular and ENT services. The role offers a 3x13 hour rotating schedule, no call, EPIC EHR, mentorship, orientation, and dedicated Office of Advanced Practice

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant in Connecticut.
• PA-C certification required or eligible per state licensing.
• 2+ years of surgery-setting experience preferred; new graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

• First‑assist in the operating room.
• Rounding, bedside procedures, and consults.
• Collaborate with surgeons across General, Robotic, Bariatric, Thoracic, Orthopedics, Vascular, and ENT services.

Job Details

• Seeking a Physician Assistant to join an enthusiastic and experienced surgery team.
• Responsible for first‑assisting in the operating room, rounding, bedside procedures, and consults.
• Work in collaboration with surgeons across multiple specialties.
• Service covers General Surgery, Robotic Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, with additional coverage of Orthopedics, Vascular, and ENT.
• Significant focus on OR time in a unique opportunity to join a seasoned team.
• Setting: Inpatient surgery.
• Full‑time rotating schedule (3×13h) with no call required.
• Up to $30,000 in shift differentials available on top of base pay.
• Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License required (or eligible).
• RNFA certification required for Nurse Practitioners (AGACNP certified).
• New graduates are welcome to apply; 2+ years of surgery‑setting experience preferred.
• Dedicated support through an Office of Advanced Practice with system‑level leadership.
• Utilizes EPIC electronic health record.
• Established mentorship and orientation programs available for newly hired providers.
