Job summary

SP MANAGEMENT SERVICES INC in Durango, CO is seeking a Surgery and MRI Scheduler to ensure a smooth patient experience by coordinating care, scheduling surgeries and imaging, and serving as a liaison between patients and Animas Surgical Hospital. This role supports both front and back office duties.

Responsibilities include health information support, pre-authorizations, insurance verification, and coordination with vendors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting.
• Experience with scheduling systems and EHR software strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule for surgeries and MRI appointments.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorization as needed.
• Coordinate with external medical device vendors to secure implants and instrumentation for scheduled procedures.
• Submit requests for missing or incomplete documentation; communicate with patients and families to provide surgical instructions and confirm appointments.
• Schedule patient pre-operative and post-operative appointments.
• Handle phone calls, messages, and patient inquiries as needed.
• Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines at all times.
