Job summary

Animas Surgical Hospital in Durango, CO is seeking a Front Desk Receptionist/Surgery Scheduler to ensure proper scheduling of operative procedures and related patient registration. You will handle front office duties, verify insurance, and coordinate with physicians, staff, and vendors to optimize OR utilization.

The role requires strong computer literacy, excellent communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Office experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer tasks.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and schedule surgical cases with patients, families, staff, and providers.
Interacts with patients, physician offices, and other staff for timely information.
Coordinates with hospital vendors regarding implants and equipment.
Maintains clear written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
Identifies scheduling barriers and suggests improvements to staff.
Confirms equipment needs for procedures (e.g., CPT/ICD-10 codes, etc.).
Monitors bed calendars and OR utilization to allocate census accurately.
Greets patients and handles calls, routing inquiries when needed.
Follows HIPAA policies and protects patient confidentiality.
