Job summary

Boys Town National Research Hospital is seeking a Surgery & Diagnostic Scheduling Rep to coordinate and schedule surgical procedures and diagnostic services. You will serve as the primary contact for patients, providers, and staff, ensuring accurate data in the EHR, proper insurance info, and timely scheduling while delivering an outstanding patient experience.

Schedule: Full-Time, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, Location: Pacific Street Clinic in Omaha, NE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with medical terminology.
• Prior working knowledge of using personal computer.

Responsibilities

• Schedules surgery date with the patient based on scheduling requests from EHR or faxed forms and documents into the EHR.
• Verifies insurance information and account numbers, correcting discrepancies in the EHR.
• Verifies surgeon privileges and coordinates time with multiple surgeons if needed.
• Facilitates room coverage with the anesthesia department.
• Notifies staff of schedule changes and coordinates with Pre-admission and OR staff.
• Sends pre-op history/physical orders and educates patients about procedures.
