Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Complex Scheduler to coordinate appointments, imaging, labs, procedures, and surgeries. You will liaise with providers, schedulers, and care teams to sequence services across multiple locations and ensure timely communication and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities include managing work queues, updating calendars, and resolving issues affecting care continuity. Prior experience with Epic is preferred, along with strong customer service and organizational

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in a healthcare setting/practice
• 1 year Completing scheduling and registration of appointments
• 1 year Practicing good public relations, customer service, time management, prioritization, and patient communication skills.
• 1 year Proficient use of computer keyboarding and Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

Responsibilities

• Serve as a single point of contact for coordinating appointments, procedures/surgeries, labs, imaging, or treatments.
• Accurately navigates and translates complex service protocols to ensure appropriate services are delivered.
• Provides patients/caregivers with information and updates.
• Maintains awareness of multiple competing situations needing attention and prioritizes to assure patient needs are met.
• Monitors, manage, and schedules/reschedules appointments from work queues or messages.
• Identify potential issues that could complicate care (insurance issues, adherence concerns).
• Collaborate with patients, caregivers, providers, schedulers, and other care team members to ensure timely sequencing of appointments, labs, and imaging.
• Apprise physicians of changes or updates related to their schedules.
• Prepare schedules for providers and maintain daily calendars across locations.
