Job summary

Cargill is seeking a Surface Maintenance Mechanic in Geneva, NY. The role focuses on inspecting, maintaining, and repairing surface mobile equipment including loaders, forklifts, and service vehicles.

You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults and perform repairs to keep production moving. Candidates should have welding experience, the ability to read manuals and schematics, and be able to work overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Must have mechanical maintenance experience in industrial, mining, or heavy equipment environments.
• Welding experience and strong troubleshooting skills are preferred.
• Basic reading of manuals, schematics, and work orders is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair surface mobile equipment such as loaders, forklifts, trucks, and service vehicles.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hoists, winches, and related systems (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical).
• Maintain material handling systems including conveyors, belts, and gearboxes.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs including component replacement and adjustments.
• Operate forklifts and mobile lifts; perform welding and light fabrication as needed.
