UFG Insurance is seeking a Surety Underwriter Trainee to join our growing Surety Department. The program provides on-the-job training to learn financial statement analysis, credit review, and underwriting practices, with mentorship and online learning.

Participants will travel with experienced underwriters to agency visits, evaluate submissions, and work toward department goals while gaining hands-on experience in a structured development path. Salary range $60,000–$75,000 plus benefits.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or combination of education or surety experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance or accounting preferred.
• 1+ years of professional work experience preferred.
• Certified, or working towards, AFSB designation, preferred.
• Employees are expected to participate in continuing education throughout their careers.

Responsabilidades

• Complete a comprehensive surety underwriting training program consisting of mentoring, self-study, and on-line learning.
• Gain an understanding and develop analytical skills on how to investigate, analyze, and underwrite surety business profitably.
• Underwrite new submissions and existing accounts with assistance from mentors. Evaluate and assess financial status, credit standing, and organization profile to analyze and determine acceptability of the risk within the framework of UFG underwriting policies and procedures.
• Assist surety underwriters in processing their books of business.
• Handle confidential information with discretion.
• Provide high-quality customer service in all interactions with internal and external customers
• Gain exposure and skills on various software platforms.
