W2 Opportunity – Surety Underwriting Assistant
We are seeking a detail-oriented Surety Underwriting Assistant to support a high-volume National Bond Center team. This role is ideal for candidates with strong administrative, customer service, and data entry experience, preferably within Surety, P&C Insurance, or financial services environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and underwriting support for new bond transactions, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and reinstatements.
- Support agents utilizing the Surety Agency Portal and respond to inquiries from internal and external customers.
- Enter bonds, rates, codes, endorsements, and underwriting information into internal systems with a high level of accuracy.
- Prepare, review, and verify documents before processing to ensure completeness and compliance.
- Maintain electronic records, documentation, and filing systems.
- Communicate effectively with underwriters, agents, attorneys, territory managers, and Surety IT teams.
- Research and resolve billing, premium, and commission discrepancies as needed.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives and recommend efficiencies.
- Perform general office and administrative support duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience supporting complex transactions; 3+ years preferred.
- Prior experience in Surety, Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance, underwriting support, insurance operations, or related administrative environments preferred.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, error-free work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Technical Skills
- Adobe Acrobat (Preferred)
