Job summary

BCA Insurance Group is seeking an experienced agency professional to join our growing regional surety team in Linwood, NJ. You will act as a trusted advisor to contractors, developers, and commercial clients, managing an established book of business and partnering with leading surety companies to deliver bonding solutions.

Working alongside experienced producers and surety leadership, you will handle renewals, submissions, client calls, invoicing, and claims facilitation, with a path toward

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of surety, commercial insurance, or underwriting experience.
  • Contract and commercial surety experience preferred.
  • Agency or carrier experience welcomed.
  • Surety underwriting assistants are encouraged to apply.
  • Property & Casualty License required or ability to obtain shortly after hire.
  • Experience with agency management systems and carrier portals.
  • Strong decision-making and delegation skills
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle large work volumes with high accuracy
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
  • Work with and under Surety Director and Bond Billing AAM to complete tasks and deliver timely and accurate execution of work.
  • Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
  • Manage policy expirations and renewals.
  • Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and collect outstanding balances.
  • Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion.
  • Handle bid bond requests, changes to bonds, cancellations, riders, and closing new business and renewals.
  • Create and distribute client invoicing for new business, renewals, or premium-bearing transactions, and collect outstanding balances.
  • Assist with the facilitation of client claims processes as needed.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with underwriters.
  • Seek and adopt best practices to improve individual and team performance.
  • Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status and any issues.
  • Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate needs, and respond quickly to service requests.
  • Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
  • Manage assigned client relationships, including initiating and conducting client calls/meetings, handling bid bond requests, changes to bonds, cancellations, riders, and closing new business and renewals.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Competence: Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
  • Team Cooperation: Work with and under Surety Director and Bond Billing AAM to complete tasks and deliver timely and accurate execution of work.
  • Customer Service: Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
  • Policy Management: Manage policy expirations and renewals.
  • Renewal Process: Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
  • Accounts Receivable: Monitor reports sent by accounting and act on delinquent accounts, collecting outstanding balances.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Activity Monitoring: Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion.
  • Other: Handle bid bond requests, changes to bonds, cancellations, riders, and closing new business and renewals.
