Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a field service technician to perform service and repairs on Portable Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Systems, and Suppression Gas Systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, interpret manuals, and manage daily service calls while ensuring safety and compliance.

Candidates should have 4+ years of experience, strong communication, and solid problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook is required, and manufacturer certifications

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

Perform service and repairs on Portable Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Systems, & Suppression Gas Systems, as well as other related building system products at customer sites. Service, troubleshoot and install equipment from a variety of manufacturers including Simplex and ANSUL. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals. Manage daily service calls, customer activity, and program system products. Work with clean agent systems, dry chemical systems, and special hazard systems.

How You Will Do It

• Assist customers with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation for Emergency Service.
• Perform inspections of Suppression Gas Systems based on contract requirements.
• Inspect customer systems.
• Use smartphones and equipment as needed.
• May include government work.

Required
