Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring a field technician to service portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, interpret specifications, and manage daily service calls across various manufacturers.

The role requires excellent communication, customer-facing skills, and a valid US driver's license. On-call rotation for emergencies is included, with a competitive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and repairs on portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems and suppression gas systems at customer sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and manuals.
• Manage daily service calls and customer activity.
• Assist customers with questions in a timely and professional manner.
• Participation in an on-call rotation for Emergency Service.
• Performs inspections of suppression gas systems as required.

What you will do

Perform service and repairs on Portable Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Systems & Suppression Gas Systems in addition to other related building system products at customer sites. Service, troubleshoot and install many different manufacturers including Simplex and ANSUL. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals. Manage daily service call, customer activity and program system products.

How you will do it

• Assist customers with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

• Participation in an on-call rotation for Emergency Service.

• Performs inspections of Suppression Gas Systems based on contract requirements.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $20-$26 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
