Job summary

Ability Options is seeking experienced Support Workers to join the Port Macquarie team. You will support participants through a range of programs and recreational activities, and assist with transport to events and appointments.

You will also complete progress notes and incidental reports. Role includes providing personal care and daily living support in a residential setting when required, and collaborating with a diverse team following NDIS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in complex behaviour supports and medical/health needs is required.
• Demonstrated resilience, empathy and strong communication skills.
• Willingness to provide personal care and daily living assistance when needed.
• Current driver licence and access to a mobile device meeting system requirements.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain, and HLTAID011 First Aid.

Responsibilities

The Role

Location: Port Macquarie, NSW (some travel required across multiple sites)

Employment: looking for Casual and Permanent Part-Time

Remuneration: $36.22 per hour + super + salary packaging + penalty rates.

Responsibilities

• Helping participants explore their interests and hobbies through range of programs and recreational activities.


• Transporting participants to events and appointments.


• Admin duties such as completing progress notes, charts and incidental reports.


• Providing personal care including toileting, showering, dressing and feeding as required.

Essential Criteria

• Looking for staff with experience in complex behaviour supports and medical/health needs.


• Ability and willingness to provide personal care and support activities of daily living in a residential setting


• High level of resilience and emotional intelligence


• Strong communication skills and demonstrated flexibility in methods of alternative and augmentative communication, particularly being able to use active listening skills


• Certificate 3 in Individual Support or related (desirable)


• Current driver licence (minimum P2)


• Have personal mobile device that meets our system requirements which is typically a device released in the last three years.


• Satisfactory background checks including NDIS Workers Check (or willingness to obtain)


• Valid First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)
