Job summary

Reach-For-the-Stars-Childcare- in Essex Junction, VT, is seeking a supportive team member to assist our teaching staff throughout the day. You’ll cover lunch breaks, help with classroom needs, keep spaces tidy, and step in when staff are absent to keep the day running smoothly.

Ideal candidates are 18+, have a high school diploma or GED, and meet one of several early childhood education requirements; we value kindness, reliability, and a collaborative spirit.

What You'll Do

Role Requirements

Our ideal candidate is a team player who can provide exceptional support to our teaching staff. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing coverage during lunch breaks so teachers can recharge and refocus
• Collaborating with classroom teachers to meet the daily needs of our children with kindness and care
• Maintaining a clean and healthy environment by participating in daily cleaning routines and assisting with laundry
• Stepping in to cover staff absences, ensuring our classrooms continue to run smoothly
• Helping to organize supplies, restock materials, and maintain a well-ordered and prepared space

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Hold a high school diploma or GED
• Meet one of the following early childhood education requirements:

Acceptable Credential or Coursework Options

• Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level 1 or Level 2 Certificate, or
• Current Child Development Associate (CDA) plus at least 12 months of experience working with children in grade 3 or younger, or
• State Board of Education-approved Human Services Program Certificate with a focus on child development or early childhood education plus at least 12 months of experience with children in grade 3 or younger, or
• Fundamentals for Early Childhood Professionals course or the Vermont Afterschool Essentials Certificate plus at least 12 months of experience with children in grade 3 or younger, or
