Job summary

Benefis Health System in Great Falls, Montana is seeking an IT Support Specialist to install and update computer and device software and hardware for end users and to optimize the efficiency of technology across the organization.

The role involves diagnosing and resolving issues with user devices, evaluating work environments for proper wiring and connections, performing routine maintenance, and providing customer education to ensure effective use of devices, all while complying with Benefis

Qualifications

• High school diploma required with 1 year hardware support experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; technical certification/training highly preferred.
• Experience installing and configuring end-user hardware and software.

Responsibilities

• Installs and updates computer and device software and hardware components for end users.
• Evaluates work environments for wiring and electrical connections and coordinates equipment movement.
• Resolves issues with end users’ access to applications and technologies; ensures effective device usage.
• Performs routine maintenance on hardware and peripheral equipment.
• Adapts to deadlines, handles stress, and adheres to Benefis policies and procedures.

Installs and updates computer and device software and hardware components for end users and optimizes the efficiency and effectiveness of computer devices. Evaluates work environments for appropriate network wiring and electrical connections and coordinates the movement of computers and related equipment. Resolves issues with end users’ experience accessing applications and technologies and ensures end users are effectively oriented to optimum use of devices and end user tools and applications. Also performs routine maintenance on computer and peripheral equipment.

Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations. Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.

Will perform all job duties or job tasks as assigned. Will follow and adhere to all requirements, regulations and procedures of any licensing board or agency. Must comply with all Benefis Health System’s organization policies and procedures.

Education/License/Experience Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent and one (1) year of computer hardware support experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Technical certification and training highly preferred.
• Experience in hardware and software installation and customer education. Proven ability to configure, diagnose, and master use of user devices.
• Familiar with current end user device technology and trends.
• Hospital or medical information systems experience preferred.
