Job summary

Data Progressive Systems Inc. is seeking a Consultant - LEVEL 3 SUPPORT Engineer in midtown Manhattan. The role blends on-site and remote work, covering trading systems and IT ops with a focus on automation, monitoring and incident resolution.

You will interact with trading, compliance and risk teams, implement deployment integrations, and support DR/BCP testing. Strong Linux/SQL, scripting and SDLC knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a similar Level 3 support role or equivalent.
• Financial industry experience preferred; NY hours coverage required.
• Strong Linux, SQL and scripting skills with incident management experience.
• Familiar with release packaging, deployment and monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of SDLC/Agile practices and ability to document runbooks.

Responsibilities

• Interact with trading, compliance, risk and IT to operate and enhance trading systems.
• Implement pre/post-release verifications and deployment integrations (Rundeck, Azure DevOps).
• Configure monitoring and alerting (Grafana, Splunk, OpsRamp).
• Support annual DR/BCP testing and provisioning of new servers.
• Assist with user authentication, service accounts and security workflows.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive infrastructure improvements.
• Document procedures and runbooks; communicate risks and actions to stakeholders.
• Show ownership and drive solutions to completion; adapt to regulatory priorities.

Level 3 Support Role -- Job Description

In this role, you will interact directly with trading, compliance and risk, and IT functions to primarily operate and enhance capabilities of the existing trading systems leveraging modern technologies and data & software architectures.

Required years of experience: 5 years

Required Skills

• Familiar with Linux: command line, standard file editing/searching/manipulation, shell scripting, etc.
• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL: understanding of tables, views, indexes; how to query and modify data; query performance/optimization
• Working experience with job automation tools such as Tidal, Autosys, Control-M, etc.
• Good communication skills, able to: express concerns/risks, document and communicate corrective and preventative action plans to stakeholders, etc.
• Methodical approach to problem solving and incident management
• Able to define and document operational procedures and runbooks
• Familiarity with release packaging and deployment: rundeck, ansible, etc.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile frameworks.
