Supply Chain Supervisor

Summary

With this historic transition comes the need to enhance and grow the company through restructuring, reorganization, modernization, optimization, and business development. We, at Power Connector, are responsible for revolutionizing the company and securing and expanding its global connection.

Power Connector’s Supply Chain Supervisor is critical in contributing to the fundamental changes that are transforming Power Connector. This position is instrumental in enhancing and strengthening our supply chain to enable the growth and development of the business by driving improvements within all supply chain functions, including the analysis and assessment of throughput, planning, increasing and optimizing capacity, and executing on daily purchasing tasks. This position’s primary focus is to contribute and execute on the team’s strategic plans for supply chain optimization, expansion, and sustainability.

Power Connector’s Supply Chain Supervisor is a dynamic, adaptable, open-minded problem solver with exceptional interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills. This position plays a key role in sustaining and increasing our current supply chain capacity and output through strategic planning and efforts in increasing efficiency and efficacy in all supply chain disciplines. This position enjoys the inherent challenges of sustaining and growing a business by increasing throughput, meeting shipment goals, monitoring raw inventory, and optimizing financial metrics in a diverse and dynamic organization. This position has a strong influence on the fundamental principles guiding supply chain functionality and works closely with the Operations Manager and General Manager to realize the company’s true supply chain potential.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee supply chain systems, processes, and infrastructure while looking for opportunities of improvement or revision, such as SIOP-initiative tasks.
  • Lead and execute day-to-day business of the supply chain department.
  • Analyze vendor lead times, quality, throughput, yield, etc.
  • Assess requirements for second sourcing and lead second sourcing initiatives.
  • Analyze and plan inventory requirements for demand fulfillment via MRP system and additional tools.
  • Monitor stock levels.
  • Maintain and review computerized or manual records of purchased items, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories.
  • Execute on purchase inquiries, placement, and monitoring.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts.
  • Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics.
  • Assess supplier profiles and analyze offers.
  • Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.
  • Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers.
  • Confer with vendors to coordinate production or shipping activities and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
  • Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
  • Maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.
  • Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables, to determine materials requirements or material priorities.
  • Strategize for opportunities to increase supply chain capacity and throughput.
  • Anticipate and track operational and tactical risks and provide strategic solutions.
  • Attend events, fairs, and exhibitions to keep abreast of the market's trends.
  • Write and review product specifications, maintaining a working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be purchased.
  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, project status reporting, and implementing change control processes.
  • Raise and track issues and conflicts, remove barriers, resolve issues involving stakeholders and escalate to appropriate level when required.
  • Monitor and visit suppliers as necessary to ensure the efficient and effective supply of needed goods or services within budgetary limits and timelines.
  • Review financial statements, sales or activity reports, or other performance data to measure productivity or goal achievement or to identify areas needing cost reduction or program improvement.
  • Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations.
  • Recruit, hire, and train supply chain team (when applicable)
  • Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members (when applicable)
  • Foster a competitive yet collaborative team environment (when applicable)
  • Assess individual performance through observation and measurement and suggest corrective actions as needed (when applicable)
  • 10% travel to visit and assess domestic and international suppliers as necessary.
  • Any additional tasks necessary to execute on the team’s strategy for operational sustainability, improvement, and optimization.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or relevant field
  • 3-5 years of experience in a supply chain or manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in the connector or wire and cable industry (preferred)

Knowledge

  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Understanding of MRP systems and best practices
  • Ability to read drawings, specifications, test procedures, etc. (preferred)

Compensation range: $70,000 - $85,000
