Job summary

Ryder in Bay City, MI is seeking a Supply Chain Ops Associate to support production by managing material availability, inventory control, and supplier coordination. This role is non-exempt with weekly pay and a Monday–Friday schedule, 6:00 a.m.

to 2:30 p.m. Responsibilities include following up on purchased parts, serving as the main supplier contact, tracking critical parts, arranging alternative sources, and monitoring part buffers to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• One year or more administrative experience preferred.
• Five years or more relevant experience strongly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Follow‑up all purchased parts to ensure shipment and on‑time delivery performance to support production requirements.
• Serve as main point of contact for all suppliers, providing direction regarding ship schedule requirements and containment plans when behind schedule, including decision making on timing for supplier ship schedules.
• Track critical parts and develop/execute containment plans to ensure no interruptions or downtime to the manufacturing line, including mode and delivery window decisions to ensure continuity of production.
• Coordinate and/or arrange for alternative sources of material and request spot buys when necessary.
• Monitor, set up, and cancel truck loads for material pickup to support schedule variations and ensure proper material coverage at the lowest possible cost.
• Review part buffers to verify coverage of build requirements.
• Document and manage S and AV code exceptions, including alarm interval maintenance, determine root cause, and take appropriate action.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels in MGO, make adjustments where necessary, and investigate/process record adjustment requests from the previous shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
