Job description

What We Do

Dynamic Ratings is an ISO-certified company dedicated to providing monitoring, control, and communication solutions for our customers in the utility industry. We provide condition-based monitoring products and services to reduce outages, increase safety, and gain visibility of electrical equipment throughout the power grid, serving industries and communities worldwide.

The Role

The Supply Chain Manager is integral to our operations, responsible for managing all aspects of purchasing and supply chain management, including production forecasting, vendor relationships, order expediting, and inventory control. This role manages a Buyer and works closely with our Engineering, Manufacturing, and Shipping/Receiving departments to drive continuous improvement and ensure smooth, efficient operations. We're looking for a hands‑on leader who can build data‑driven processes and procedures where gaps exist today.

What You’ll Do
  • Personally manage purchasing and supply chain activities, including the creation and execution of purchase orders, production forecasting, and inventory management - this is hands‑on work, not oversight‑only.
  • Directly supervise a Buyer, providing guidance, workload prioritization, and accountability.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating terms and pricing to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Utilize trend analysis for negotiating and procuring raw materials from both international and domestic vendors.
  • Expedite orders as necessary to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Identify gaps in current purchasing and supply chain workflows and develop, document, and implement processes and procedures to close them.
  • Lead change management efforts, driving adoption of new processes across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Shipping/Receiving.
  • Maintain company records, ensuring they are up-to-date and accurate in NetSuite.
  • Monitor vendor metrics, taking action as necessary to ensure vendors meet or exceed expectations.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels, ensuring the company has necessary materials without carrying excess stock.
  • Develop bill of materials workbooks.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 7 years of progressive purchasing or supply chain experience in manufacturing; management experience preferred.
  • Comfortable operating as a "working manager"; willing and able to perform hands‑on purchasing tasks in addition to supervising and directing a team.
  • Ability to influence cross‑functionally across departments without direct authority.
  • OEM manufacturing experience.
  • Proven track record of building or improving processes and procedures in a purchasing/supply chain environment, and leading teams through that change.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with NetSuite or another ERP system strongly preferred, including experience with ERP implementation, migration, or process optimization.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with co‑workers and vendors.
  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CSCP/CPIM (Certified Supply Chain Professional / Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) a plus.
