Fleet Maintenance and Damage Manager
Major Responsibility: Responsible for the overall performance of the fleet services function with respect to servicing, vehicle damage repair, and in-fleeting/de-fleeting of rental vehicles to maximize fleet utilization and profitability for the City/District.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop, implement, and communicate operating plans to maximize fleet utilization according to business and company guidelines, overseeing maintenance, repair, and reconditioning of fleet vehicles, including activities related to in-fleeting new and used vehicles into the rental fleet and de-fleeting vehicles for sale, auction, or other channels.
- Manage team performance by setting, communicating, monitoring, and updating goals based on key performance indicators such as technician productivity, out-of-service percentage, overdue idle cars, vendor cycle time, days to deletion, and venue quality grades.
- Forecast, budget, and manage financial drivers including S&W per day, warranty recovery, estimate costs, and deletion costs.
- Coordinate automotive damage appraisals, repairs, and all related activities, including documentation and parts procurement.
- Oversee vendor relationships and workload assignments, ensuring service levels and policies are followed.
- At busing locations, oversee the repair and maintenance of all buses.
- Collaborate with Fleet owners, District/City Managers, and external partners to prioritize workloads aligned with business objectives.
- Manage all aspects of employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, training, recognition, and performance management, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Handle employee relations and ensure adherence to HR policies, partnering with HR Business Partners as needed.
- Ensure a safe work environment by following safety policies and practices.

Experience and Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; 2-4 year college degree preferred or equivalent education, training, or experience
- Minimum of 5 years management experience in related fields such as rental car, automotive shop, or service industries
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, nights, or weekends as needed
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and oversee multiple work areas
- Position requires regular on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely
