Job Description:

Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Specialist. Reporting to the SCM Manager, you will support the business by ensuring all purchasing and logistics activities comply with corporate policies and procedures.

Please note: We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.

The role is home-based with a local Birmingham city centre base, requiring travel to project sites and client offices across the UK as needed.

Responsibilities:
  1. Purchasing materials, goods, services, and contracting transport/logistics services for the Grid Integration Business, ensuring specifications, price, delivery, and terms are met.
  2. Initiating purchase orders based on requisitions, following standard procedures.
  3. Negotiating with suppliers and renewing agreements on pricing, terms, and conditions.
  4. Supporting bid and proposal teams with market insights.
  5. Monitoring supplier performance and resolving issues related to delivery, quality, and lead times.
  6. Qualifying new suppliers in collaboration with Quality and Engineering teams.
  7. Ensuring supplier orders meet customer requirements regarding content, quality, delivery, sustainability, and price, while upholding safety and integrity values.
Qualifications and Background:
  1. Proven experience in Supply Chain & Logistics Management, particularly with electrical, mechanical, and service suppliers.
  2. Experience working with ERP systems and SOPs.
  3. Valid UK Work Permit.
  4. Knowledge of SAP and Office 365.
  5. Strong communication and collaborative skills.
  6. Customer-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  7. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
  8. A technical degree (e.g., Industrial or Electrical Engineering) is a plus but not required.
