Description

The position of Supply Chain Manager – Lakeview Site within Silver Falls Capital is a challenging leadership role where your skill and experience will make a lasting impact on the business. We are seeking a motivated leader to identify opportunities for improvement within our supply chain, establishing strong strategic partnerships that mitigate risks, leverage supplier expertise, and set clear metrics to improve quality, on-time delivery, and material productivity. Collaborate with key business stakeholders to take charge of supplier identification, selection, and the management of supplier performance to ensure optimization of all direct and indirect materials processes and services for the Lakeview location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Create, review, prioritize and execute on PPV, working capital and VAVE opportunity funnels established by the SCM and Engineering teams
  2. Decrease exposure to excess, slow-moving, obsolescence & scrap (SLOB) materials
  3. Facilitate idea generation events for product families where a team of SME’s evaluates products, materials, and processes for improvement opportunity, prioritizes and executes on necessary changes
  4. Manage and improve factory efficacy, leveraging your supply chain team in partnership with Ops, Engineering and Sales Ops, optimizing material flow & inventory turns to meet world class working capital and cash flow goals
  5. Lead the materials and logistics teams to ensure seamless receipt and shipment of product and materials.
  6. Implement and manage supplier agreements and replenishment plans to achieve OTD, improving competitive market position
  7. During release of new products, work closely with the Ops and engineering teams to support the procurement strategy for prototypes, tooling, and materials, ensuring both manufacturability and a quality product for our customers
  8. Work directly with suppliers, often at gemba, to improve cost, quality, and processes through accountability to supplier scorecards (performance management) and service level agreements
  9. Manage suppliers tied to indirect and MRO spend, maximizing payment terms and optimizing price
  10. Work with all levels of the operation to nurture a culture of continuous improvement and Silver Falls Way (SFW business system and culture) by providing a high-level of support (collaborative problem-solving) for the ideas and pain-points of the team
  11. Assist and/or own validation process, partnering with the Quality and SFW leader, for supplier and design change proposals
  12. Support the integration of recently acquired companies, leveraging preferred suppliers and best-practices for the integrated businesses

Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Total team size: 7 to 10 employees
  2. Leads the logistics and material control teams in execution and improvement of receiving, shipping, and material control processes throughout the factories
  3. Leads the buyers in execution and improvement of buying, supplier selections, working capital control related to inventory, and alignment of procurement to SIOP outputs
  4. Development of team members across their technical skillsets and overall alignment to Silver Falls cultural values and anchors

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

  1. Bachelor's Degree is required in business, supply chain management, or analytical field
  2. 7+ years of experience in supply chain (manufacturing AND commodity management) within a lean manufacturing / production environment with specific experience in:
  3. Procurement, materials management and supply chain management for best landed cost and enhanced inventory turns
  4. Vendor, customer, and external facing engagement
  5. 3+ years managing (5) or more direct reports
  6. Computer skills using Microsoft Office and in particular expertise with Excel as well as experience working in ERP systems
  7. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools (Kaizens, improvement workshops, etc.), and continuous improvement techniques
  8. Willingness to acquire knowledge on innovative technologies to improve material and non-material productivity
  9. Able to read and interpret mechanical/technical drawings
  10. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  11. Able to work independently, self-directed and be solutions-oriented
  12. Sound organizational and planning skills with a solid attention to detail
  13. Effective written and verbal communication skills (through all org levels) and excellent interpersonal skills
  14. Obvious enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work
  15. A proven track record of delivering results in a high-performance Lean Environment
  16. Demonstrated experience in indirectly influencing others in order to achieve measurable results
  17. Demonstrated business acumen and a basic understanding of the P&L and balance sheet, including the creation of complex ROI calculations
  18. Management of procurement process and supply chain for best landed cost
  19. Knowledge of inventory management and production scheduling principles (MRP, KanBan, JIT, VMI, etc.)

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

  1. APICS Certification in Planning and Inventory Management
  2. Knowledge and use of the Aptean ERP System and related business intelligence tools
  3. Knowledge and use of the Microsoft Dynamics ERP System and Power BI

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  1. Combination of office and factory work environments
  2. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted and > 40 pounds with assistance.
  3. Committed to the use of PPE as applicable
