Job summary

Capewell Aerial Systems in South Windsor, CT is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead purchasing, production planning, scheduling, and inventory control, driving material flow and continuous improvement in support of customer and business objectives.

The role oversees the supply chain team, collaborates with engineering, BD, and Sales, and ensures on-time delivery while optimizing vendor qualifications and ERP/MRP performance (VISUAL preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, operations, or related field.
• Five years purchasing or supply chain experience in manufacturing.
• Three years supervisory experience or leadership of cross-functional teams.
• Experience with AS9100 quality management system.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing, planning, scheduling, MRP, inventory, and cycle counting.
• Experience with quote-to-cash processes and work order generation in manufacturing.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems; VISUAL preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead purchasing, planning, scheduling, and MRP in VISUAL Manufacturing.
• Ensure timely delivery of raw, fabricated, and service items to support production schedules.
• Generate work orders to support customer delivery schedules.
• Advise BD and Sales on product availability and lead times.
• Evaluate and qualify new vendors for quality, price, and service.
• Negotiate price, delivery, and terms with suppliers.
• Expedite internal and external orders.
• Update part parameters in VISUAL ERP.
• Coordinate make/buy decisions with engineering.
• Develop and lead the Supply Chain Team.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate production needs with planning, manufacturing, and shipping.
• Control inventory levels toward annual goals.
• Foster value-added internal and external relationships.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Collaborate to meet department and company goals.
• Wear PPE on the shop floor (safety glasses, composite toe shoes).
