Job summary

Capewell Aerial Systems in South Windsor, CT seeks a Buyer to source and purchase materials for manufacturing, balancing quality, cost and delivery. You will evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms, create POs, and ensure compliance with procurement processes.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or 4+ years in manufacturing supply chain, MRP knowledge, ERP experience (Visual ERP or similar), and strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required.
• 4+ years of relevant supply chain experience in manufacturing acceptable in lieu of a degree.
• Strong working knowledge of MRP and best purchasing practices.
• Excellent computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Experience with Visual ERP or similar ERP system.
• Knowledge of EAR and ITAR requirements.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to make sound decisions under deadlines.
• Strong negotiation, detail orientation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.
• Evaluate and select suppliers; negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and service expectations.
• Create purchase orders, gather documents, and audit details for compliance.
• Process requisitions and update management on order status.
• Collaborate with internal customers to expedite requisitions and resolve supply issues.
• Arrange transport of goods and track orders for timely delivery.
• Analyze supplier market conditions, total cost, quality and risk to guide purchasing decisions.
• Resolve supplier performance, quality and delivery issues; qualify alternates when needed.
• Coordinate with inventory team and stockroom; assess received stock quality.
• May use company vehicle to pick up and deliver parts; ensure safe driving.
• Support cross-functional teams with effective supply chain solutions.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and adhere to PPE requirements on shop floor.
