Job summary

Capewell Aerial Systems in South Windsor, CT seeks a Buyer to source and purchase materials for manufacturing, balancing quality, cost, delivery, and supplier performance. The role requires analyzing market conditions and negotiating terms within delegated authority.

Responsibilities include supplier selection, creating purchase orders, expediting requisitions, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring compliance with EAR/ITAR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field; manufacturing experience preferred.
• In lieu of a degree, 4+ years supply chain experience in manufacturing.
• MRP proficiency and strong purchasing practices required.
• Experience with Visual ERP or similar ERP system.
• Knowledge of EAR/ITAR and practical risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.
• Evaluate and select suppliers; negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and service expectations.
• Create purchase orders and audit details for compliance.
• Process requisitions and update management on order status.
• Expedite requisitions and collaborate with internal customers to solve disruptions.
• Arrange transport and track orders for timely delivery.
• Analyze market conditions and supplier performance to support operations.
• Resolve supplier issues and qualify alternate sources when needed.
• Coordinate with inventory and stockroom; ensure quality of received stock.
• Possess safe driving skills and comply with company policies.
