Nordstrom is seeking summer interns who are highly motivated and focused on the customer experience to join our field supply chain engineering team. As a Nordstrom Supply Chain Industrial Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers and operations leaders to design, test, and implement solutions that improve productivity, safety, and cost efficiency across our distribution network.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a mechanical, industrial, or other relevant technical bachelor's or master's degree program.
• Expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028.
• Willing to relocate to a distribution or fulfillment center.
• Strong analytical and project management capabilities.
• Ability to write queries, leverage AI, and use advanced Excel tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop process flow design and mapping, productivity measures, time studies, data collection, and computational analyses.
• Lead components of the project management life cycle with business case analysis, requirements, and issues management; present strategy to senior leadership.
• Design, implement, and refine engineered solutions within distribution or fulfillment center operations, including advanced distribution technology.
• Apply analytical mindset to identify and reengineer inefficiencies in existing processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope problems, design solutions, and quantify financial impact.
• Research emerging technologies, evaluate automation or vendor partners, and support evaluations from proof of concept to deployment and performance tracking.
