Job summary

Nordstrom Inc. is seeking motivated summer interns to join the field supply chain engineering team in Riverside, CA. You will design, test, and implement solutions to improve productivity, safety, and cost efficiency across the distribution network.

As an Engineering Intern, you will participate in process design, data collection, and project management activities, with opportunities for full-time roles upon completion. Pay is hourly and housing/travel are sponsored for the program.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a mechanical, industrial, or related technical bachelor’s or master’s program.
• Expected graduation between Dec 2027 and Aug 2028.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to identify inefficiencies.
• Experience with data analysis, Excel, and SQL is a plus.
• Willing to relocate to a distribution/fulfillment center.

Responsibilities

• Develop process flow design, productivity measures, and time studies.
• Lead parts of the project management life cycle with business cases.
• Design and refine engineered solutions in distribution or fulfillment.
• Apply analytical mindset to quantify improvements and cost impact.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and evaluate new vendors/tools.
