Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Supply Chain Expediter Intern to support the Expediting team in monitoring supplier progress and ensuring equipment and materials align with project requirements. You will collect and review supplier information, maintain expediting records, identify risks, and coordinate follow-up with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a 4-year program in Supply Chain, Business, Technical/Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (e.g., background checks, drug screen, MVR search).
• On-site work requirement at Overland Park, KS.

Responsibilities

• Monitor supplier progress against PO requirements, milestones and project delivery dates.
• Collect, review, and update supplier status information across engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing, shipping and delivery milestones.
• Support follow-up with suppliers to obtain schedules, progress updates, recovery plans and required documentation.
• Identify potential schedule delays, missing information, and delivery risks for escalation to the Expeditor.
• Maintain expediting notes, reports, trackers and records in project systems.
• Prepare status reports and communicate updates to Expediting, Procurement and project teams.
• Participate in supplier status meetings and document action items and follow-up needs.
• Review supplier schedules for completeness and consistency.
• Develop knowledge of purchase orders, supplier documentation and logistics coordination.
