Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking an Engineer 2 to join the MISC team, sitting within the Supply Chain org. The role focuses on the integration layer between WMS and Material Handling Equipment, with hybrid work in Seattle requiring in-office presence at least 4 days/week.

You will design and develop innovative solutions, write clean code, and contribute to modern practices like CI/CD, cloud migration, and TDD, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of Java and Spring Boot; other languages a plus.
• Experience with REST, Microservices and containerization (Kubernetes/Docker).
• Experience with AWS/GCP and CI/CD tooling.
• Experience with messaging systems (Kafka/SQS) and databases (Spanner/Postgres).
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop solutions to drive Nordstrom business.
• Write clean, scalable, and reliable code.
• Contribute to CI/CD, cloud migrations and test-driven development.
• Work with SCRUM team and participate in code reviews.
