Looking for a Director (up to VP) of Supply Chain to take the lead of this early stage energy based company. At the highest level, you will negotiate the supplier and partner agreements that will define our unit economics for the next decade, and you will own the bottoms-up cost model and the cost-down program that takes the product from first-of-a-kind cost to commercial target.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience across supply chain, strategic sourcing, and/or global supply management in hardware-intensive industries such as energy storage, fuel cells, hydrogen, industrial power systems, automotive, semiconductor, aerospace, complex industrial equipment, or capital equipment.
- Deep, hands-on experience running production at external manufacturing partners (contract manufacturers, OEMs, skid fabricators). Not just overseeing from a distance but actively driving daily execution, ramp, and issue resolution on the factory floor at partner sites.
- Track record negotiating complex manufacturing, supply, development, and service agreements, including MSAs, Supply Agreements, SOWs, tooling/NRE agreements, capacity reservations, milestone payment structures, acceptance criteria, IP protections, and supplier-performance obligations at commercial values in the tens of millions or higher.
- Strong technical foundation (BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, or Materials Engineering; MS or MBA a plus) and the credibility to engage design engineers on manufacturability trade-offs.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to partner and supplier sites, both domestic and international.
- Proven track record building and scaling a supply chain function from the ground up in an early-stage or high-growth hardware company.
- Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-tier supply chains with long-lead-time, low-volume/high-mix components.
- Excellent negotiation skills, contract literacy, and financial acumen; comfortable structuring complex commercial terms independently, with input from Legal as needed.
- Experience with demand forecasting, inventory planning, and working capital optimization in a hardware manufacturing environment.
