We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Supply Chain to lead and scale supply chain operations for a growing medical device contract manufacturing organization. This role will have a strong emphasis on procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and supply chain development, while overseeing purchasing, inventory, warehousing, and logistics activities across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with business growth, customer commitments, cost objectives, and production requirements.
- Lead purchasing, strategic sourcing, supplier management, inventory, and materials activities across multiple locations.
- Negotiate supplier pricing, payment terms, lead times, contracts, and supply commitments.
- Develop domestic and global sourcing strategies for key manufacturing components, including electronics, PCB/PCBA, fabricated metals, injection-molded plastics, packaging, and other direct materials.
- Identify, qualify, onboard, and develop new suppliers while strengthening existing supplier relationships.
- Drive supplier consolidation, dual sourcing, cost reduction, lead-time improvements, and supply-risk mitigation.
- Establish supplier scorecards, performance metrics, business reviews, and escalation processes.
- Ensure material availability to support production, customer commitments, new product introduction, and product transfers.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, Program Management, and Finance to align supply chain strategy with business needs.
- Develop scalable purchasing processes, SOPs, metrics, and operating rhythms as the organization grows.
- Oversee inventory strategy, material planning, shortage management, and inventory accuracy.
- Lead and develop a team of Buyers and Supply Chain personnel across multiple locations.
- Support compliance with applicable FDA, ISO 13485, and quality-system requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve supplier performance, cost, lead times, inventory, and overall supply chain efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive supply chain, procurement, sourcing, materials, or operations experience within manufacturing.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing purchasing, procurement, materials, or supply chain teams.
- Experience within medical device, electronics manufacturing, contract manufacturing, life sciences, aerospace, or another regulated manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Strong experience negotiating supplier pricing, contracts, payment terms, lead times, and supply commitments.
- Demonstrated experience with supplier development, sourcing strategy, supplier risk management, and supplier performance.
- Experience sourcing components such as electronics, PCB/PCBA, plastics, metals, or other manufactured components is highly valued.
- Strong understanding of ERP/MRP, purchasing processes, inventory planning, and material availability.
- Experience supporting NPI, product transfers, or transition-to-production activities preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in a fast-growing manufacturing environment.
- APICS/ASCM, CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, Lean, Six Sigma, or related certification is a plus.
