Job summary

Ascent Aerospace is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer 2 to monitor and improve vendor performance and qualify new suppliers ensuring compliance with customer specifications to prevent quality failures.

The role supports external provider and customer interfaces, leading audits and driving corrective actions across the supply base while adhering to health, safety, and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five (5) years of related experience required.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&T.
• Experience advocating as the "voice of the customer" demanding the highest quality expectations from the supply base and organization.
• Moderate experience in supplier quality assurance.
• Effective and proven use of problem solving tools.
• QMS auditing experience.
• Ability to present, manage, and interpret performance data.
• Ability to effectively handle tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Executing duties with a proactive focus.
• Knowledge of GD&T, CMMs, and Laser Trackers.
• Understanding of CNC machines, manufacturing processes, shop repair techniques, welding, bushings, assembly.
• Ability to use manual inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, bore gages).
• Export Control Compliance: US Person required.

Responsibilities

• Launch and lead Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations.
• Review and communicate customer requirements, adhering to customer/industry specifications and inspect-ability of product.
• Monitor non-conformance process and manage quality records and reports.
• Outsource/customer quality interface and present product for buyoff to Customer for outsourced complete tools.
• Facilitate Customer audits and visits and arising actions and responses.
• Lead external provider audits and cross-functional reviews.
• Support first article activities and assessment of completed packs for approval.
• Review and enforce quality agreements.
• Support Engineering activities and outsource/customer meetings and questions.
• Ensure that working practices in relation to Health, Safety and Housekeeping are adhered to.
• Any additional duties as reasonably assigned by management.
