Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to plan and execute supplier quality assurance activities for industrial processes and materials. You will lead improvements in PFMEA, Mistake Proofing, and Control Plans to drive defect-free outcomes and ensure conformance to specifications.

The role requires ISO/TS manufacturing experience, NPIs with APQP/PPAP, and a strong problem-solving background. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required, with Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking).
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of related Quality Engineering experience in an ISO/TS certified manufacturing environment.
• Strong root cause problem-solving background including 8D, Six Sigma, Mistake Proofing, and SPC tools.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and APQP techniques including PPAP.
• Demonstrated resiliency and process focus implementing Quality standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead improvement of supplier and incoming inspection processes to achieve Zero Defects.
• Lead cross-functional teams to reduce Cost of Poor Quality and supplier rejects via root cause analysis.
• Improve and sustain ISO 9001 QMS including internal and external audits.
• Plan and oversee analysis, inspection, testing, and process controls to assure quality.
• Lead APQP stage gate deliverables for new product/process development and ECN projects including PPAP.
• Drive calibration and metrology system improvements and asset management.
• Maintain knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards for compliance.
