Job summary

Johnson Controls Navy Systems is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to support production plant operations and key suppliers. You will drive quality improvements, lead RCCA activities, and ensure supplier readiness to meet design and manufacturing needs.

The role requires strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP/FAI, and quality systems; travel up to 10% to partner with strategic suppliers is expected. Salary is negotiable based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline preferred.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience in heavy industry, automotive, aerospace, or metal fabrication.
• Knowledge of ISO 9000, TS 16949, or AS 9100 quality systems.
• Experience with APQP, D/PFMEA, Control Plan and PPAP/FAI.
• Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with Minitab or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality technical support to production operations and key suppliers.
• Lead commodity teams to address quality, RCCA and continuous improvement.
• Conduct supplier quality system audits and supplier evaluations.
• Develop test and inspection plans for manufactured and purchased components.
• Review supplier first article inspection results and deviation requests.
• Ensure compliance of suppliers with purchase orders and design requirements.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Design and Manufacturing Engineering on quality issues.
