Job summary

Barletta Boats is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure materials and components meet high standards for quality and reliability. You will partner with suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive improvements and solve complex quality challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will evaluate suppliers, monitor performance, and implement QC processes while maintaining documentation and certifications. Willingness to travel for supplier audits is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field.
• Experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, quality standards, and supplier quality processes.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels.
• Experience with Six Sigma, FMEA, 8D, or similar approaches.
• Ability to travel to supplier locations for audits and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and qualify new and existing suppliers to ensure compliance with quality and performance standards.
• Partner with Purchasing and Supply Chain teams to maintain and improve our approved supplier network.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive measurable quality improvements.
• Develop and implement incoming quality control processes, inspection plans, and testing protocols.
• Ensure materials and components consistently meet specifications and quality requirements.
• Review and maintain supplier quality documentation, certifications, and related records.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to verify compliance with quality management systems and industry standards.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective action activities related to supplier quality concerns.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to prevent recurring issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve supplier quality, reduce waste, lower costs, and increase efficiency.
• Champion the use of quality tools and methodologies to enhance supplier performance and business results.
• Build strong supplier relationships focused on partnership, accountability, and long-term success.
• Promote and support a Barletta Safe culture by modeling safe behaviors and proactively identifying opportunities to reduce workplace risk.

What You'll Do
