Job summary

Bare Home is seeking a Supplier Performance Manager to design and operate the supplier performance system, including scorecards, qualifications, and cost controls. You will drive dual-sourcing across countries, identify new factories, and shape commercial terms to protect margins.

You will partner with Sourcing, Quality Control, Product Development, Planning, and Finance, influencing volume shifts, chargebacks, and supplier exits, with a strong emphasis on timeliness and accountability.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years in supplier performance, supplier development, or strategic sourcing in soft goods, home textiles, apparel, or adjacent manufacturing
• Personal, hands-on experience standing up multiple new factories — not only maintaining inherited relationships
• Dual-country or dual-factory sourcing experience (China plus at least one alternative country strongly preferred)
• Demonstrated negotiation from a cost model — not from the factory's first quote
• Project management of parallel workstreams across factories and internal teams
• Comfortable in the weeds: sample tracking, factory calls, cost sheets, audit findings, and QBRs
• Proven ability to work alongside established sourcing and compliance colleagues as a partner — building the system together, not competing for territory
• Reliable attendance and punctuality

Responsibilities

• Build and own the supplier performance system: scorecards, monthly reviews and QBRs, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and volume-shift recommendations
• Install and track OTIF, quality, sample-turn, cost, and responsiveness metrics — and act on them through a clear escalation path: warning, chargeback, volume shift, exit
• Put late-delivery and quality remedies into supplier contracts and actually enforce them
• Define target supplier profiles, build short lists, negotiate commercial terms, assess capability fit, and apply clear kill criteria
• Stand up multiple new suppliers per year — running two to three factories in parallel through sampling until a winner is chosen
• Write and run a qualification playbook that moves commercial, capability/audit, quality, color, testing, packaging, and logistics tracks in parallel — cutting first-article and pre-production cycle time without lowering the quality bar
• Build a complete request-packet standard so factories receive everything the first time: spec, workmanship, color standard, tests, dates, and quantities
• Build and maintain a product source map: primary and backup factories, country of origin, tool-up cost, quality delta, and landed cost under current and stressed tariff scenarios
• Own the cost file: should-cost discipline, negotiation calendar, payment terms, MOQs, lead times, and penalty clauses
• Deliver landed-cost business cases that inform where volume goes
