Job summary

Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company is seeking a Supply Management Specialist I to manage day-to-day performance and relationships with suppliers, coordinate delivery of purchased parts, and drive improvements in quality, delivery, and supplier performance.

You will oversee inventory, monitor supplier performance, investigate issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain production flow and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good planning and organizational abilities.
• Strong data collection, analysis, and reporting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve supplier issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the delivery of purchased parts from internal and external suppliers.
• Maintain daily communication with business-critical suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and provide feedback on key supplier-management metrics.
• Investigate and resolve supplier delivery and supply issues.
• Work with suppliers to improve quality, delivery, and overall performance.
• Manage inventory for the assigned site/factory and resolve discrepancies following established procedures.
• Collect and analyze information on cost drivers, market conditions, alternative suppliers, and opportunities for improvement.
• Review supplier/contract performance and provide information for contract negotiations or renewals.
• Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities within supply-chain operations.
• Coordinate meetings and actions with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supply issues and maintain production flow.
• Maintain accurate reports and supply-management documentation.
