Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer for Silicon & Packaging (Starlink) to drive supplier quality, cost, and delivery improvements across IC packaging hardware used in satellites. You will collaborate with design, R&D, and manufacturing teams to optimize supplier capabilities and implement robust QA processes.

The role requires hands-on supplier onboarding, PPAP execution, and close coordination with procurement to meet production goals while maintaining high reliability and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of experience with electronic packaged part manufacturing (IC packaging, wafer-level packaging).
• 3+ years of experience in supply chain engineering, supplier development/quality, process engineering, manufacturing, or design engineering

Responsibilities

• Own continuity of supply and improve quality, cost, delivery and capacity metrics for IC packaging hardware.
• Collaborate with design, R&D, commercial supply chain, hardware reliability, materials, and manufacturing engineers to understand design intent
• Review and approve package substrate fabrication technology, assembly processes, and quality control plans
• Support procurement to strategically source parts matched with supplier capabilities
• Identify, audit, and onboard new suppliers
• Define supplier requirements and ensure PPAP/MTTF targets are met
