Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of secondary mathematics content (Algebra, Geometry).
  • Experience tutoring/working with secondary students preferred.
  • Knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards for Mathematics and effective instructional practices.
  • Experience providing small-group or individualized math instruction preferred.
  • Ability to use student data to identify skill gaps and instructional needs.
  • Willingness to work as a team member.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • History of good attendance.
  • Demonstrate computer usage skills (with emphasis on database management).
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Good public relations skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision.

POSITION: Supplemental Mathematics Tutor

SALARY: Based upon the Governing Boards approved Salary Schedule

WORK YEAR: As Needed

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Supplemental Mathematics Tutor will provide targeted mathematics intervention to students identified as needing additional academic support. The tutor will use student data to provide individualized and small-group instruction focused on closing skill gaps and improving mathematics proficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • ? Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • ? Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • ? Must hold required Ohio Department of Education and Workforce permit(s) or be eligible to obtain.
  • ? Must meet Title I paraprofessional requirements.
  • ? Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in secondary mathematics content, including Algebra and Geometry.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and work year as established by the Governing Board.The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non - prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
