POSITION: Supplemental Mathematics Tutor

GENERAL DESCRIPTION : The Supplemental Mathematics Tutor will provide targeted mathematics intervention to students identified as needing additional academic support. The tutor will use student data to provide individualized and small-group instruction focused on closing skill gaps and improving mathematics proficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Must hold required Ohio Department of Education and Workforce permit(s) or be eligible to obtain.
• Must meet Title I paraprofessional requirements.
• Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in secondary mathematics content, including Algebra and Geometry.
• Experience working with or tutoring secondary students preferred.
• Knowledge of Ohio's Learning Standards for Mathematics and effective mathematics instructional practices.
• Experience providing small-group or individualized mathematics instruction preferred.
• Ability to use student data to identify skill gaps and instructional needs.
• Willingness/ability to work as a team member.
• Good organizational skills.
• History of good job attendance.
• Demonstrate computer usage skills (with emphasis on database management)
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills
• Good public relation skills
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills
• Capable of working with minimal supervision
• Must pass criminal background checks, be free from communicable disease

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and work year as established by the Governing Board.The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non - prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
