Job summary

United Parks & Resorts is seeking a visually driven leader to manage the Visual Merchandising team. You will guide displays, planograms, and promotions, ensuring brand standards across locations and collaborations with store leadership and marketing.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating project timelines, and optimizing product presentation for seasonal events and new openings. A strong eye for detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older and able to meet job demands.
  • Education in visual merchandising, retail management, design or related field preferred.
  • Two years minimum in visual merchandising, retail presentation or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the visual merchandising team across stores.
  • Schedule workloads and monitor progress to meet schedules.
  • Support planning for new products, seasonal transitions and events.
  • Ensure displays align with brand standards and creative direction.
  • Review VM work for quality, safety and brand consistency.
  • Coordinate timelines, labor, and materials for VM projects.
  • Collaborate with leadership, Marketing, Facilities and vendors.
  • Maintain organized VM spaces, tools, and display components.

What you get to do:

You will lead and develop the visual merchandising team while partnering with store leadership, Merchandise, Marketing, and other internal teams to ensure presentations support brand standards, seasonal initiatives, promotional campaigns, and business priorities.

You will also:

  • Supervise, coach, schedule, and develop Visual Merchandising Ambassadors, including the Senior Visual Merchandiser.
  • Assign daily and project-based workloads and monitor progress to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Support visual merchandising planning and execution for new products, seasonal transitions, special events, promotions, and new retail locations.
  • Ensure visual presentations, merchandise sets, signage, fixtures, props, and displays are implemented consistently with corporate standards and approved creative direction.
  • Review and approve visual merchandising work for quality, accuracy, brand consistency, safety, and operational readiness.
  • Update merchandise presentations based on product availability, sales performance, inventory levels, and business needs.
  • Conduct regular store walks with Merchandise leadership to evaluate visual standards, identify opportunities, and establish priorities.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, removal, storage, and disposal of visual merchandising materials, displays, fixtures, and related assets.
  • Coordinate visual merchandising project timelines, installation schedules, labor needs, and required materials.
  • Partner with store leadership and inventory teams to ensure sufficient product is available to support planned displays and merchandise presentations.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of planograms, floor sets, window displays, promotional layouts, and product activations.
  • Maintain organized visual merchandising workspaces, storage areas, tools, supplies, fixtures, and display components.
  • Coordinate and monitor work orders related to fixtures, lighting, signage, displays, and other visual merchandising needs.
  • Identify damaged, outdated, or inconsistent visual elements and ensure timely repair, replacement, or removal.
  • Support the execution of capital projects, store renovations, new location openings, and major merchandise installations.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors regarding signage, fixtures, props, fabrication, printing, and installation needs.
  • Monitor project expenses, supply usage, and visual merchandising resources in partnership with Merchandise leadership.
  • Ensure all visual merchandising work is completed in accordance with company safety policies and applicable operational requirements.
  • Maintain scheduling and timekeeping records for assigned Ambassadors.
  • Provide ongoing training, feedback, coaching, and performance documentation for direct reports.
  • Respond to changing business priorities and provide visual merchandising support to additional locations or areas as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
What it takes to succeed:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in visual merchandising, retail management, design, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of visual merchandising, retail presentation, store design, or related experience.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience developing and executing merchandise displays, planograms, floor sets, signage, and promotional presentations.
  • Strong understanding of visual merchandising principles, including product placement, balance, color, scale, traffic flow, and storytelling.
  • Ability to interpret visual directives, planograms, design concepts, measurements, and installation instructions.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, motivate, and provide direction to a team.
  • Strong project-management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Merchandise leadership, store teams, Marketing, Facilities, vendors, and other internal partners.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistent visual standards.
  • Ability to work independently, troubleshoot installation issues, and make timely decisions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop or other design-related software preferred.
  • Experience with merchandise management, scheduling, timekeeping, or work-order systems preferred.
  • A valid state driver’s license and the ability to meet company vehicle-operation requirements.
  • Theme park, hospitality, entertainment, or high-volume retail experience preferred.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
What else is important:
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift.
  • Must be able to climb ladders or work at elevated heights when necessary.
  • Must be able to kneel, squat, bend from floor to waist, reach overhead, grasp objects, and perform fine hand-manipulation tasks.
  • Must be able to safely use tools and equipment required for display installation and maintenance.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, dust, fumes, and odors.
  • Must be able to work around cleaning products, adhesives, paint, hardware, and other materials used in visual merchandising.
  • Must be flexible regarding work locations based on business needs and project requirements.
