Qualifications

  • Two years of supervisory experience in an acute care hospital imaging department preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • ARDMS, RVT certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight and leadership for Ultrasound Department technologists and ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Manage staffing schedules and augment staffing as needed to support daily care delivery.
  • Maintain working knowledge of RIS, PACS, and quality control processes; ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing staff training, competency development and continuing education.
  • Participate in staff evaluations and competency reviews to ensure clinical excellence.
  • Ensure adherence to departmental policies and promote consistent performance across modalities.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with CDPH, TJC, and ACR accreditation standards and document quality metrics.
  • Foster teamwork and effective communication; support a positive work environment.
  • Assist Director/Manager with departmental operational responsibilities; oversee vascular imaging lab as Technical Director.

Position Summary

The Imaging Clinical Supervisor- Ultrasound supports daily operations of the Ultrasound Department, ensuring safe, efficient, and highquality diagnostic services. This role oversees staff scheduling, workflow coordination, and labor efficiency while maintaining regulatory, safety, and qualitycontrol compliance. Serving as a key resource for problem resolution and service excellence, the position promotes strong communication, teamwork, and patientcentered care.



  • Provides clinical oversight and leadership for Ultrasound Department technologists and ensures safe, highquality patient care.

  • Manages and adjusts staffing schedules, augments staffing as needed, and actively supports the daily clinical care delivery team.

  • Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of RIS, PACS, quality control processes, and all applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Supports new employee onboarding and oversees ongoing staff training, competency development, and continuing education.

  • Participates in staff performance assessments, annual evaluations, and competency reviews to ensure clinical and professional excellence.

  • Ensures adherence to departmental policies and procedures and promotes consistent performance standards across all modalities.

  • Maintains regulatory compliance with CDPH, TJC, and ACR accreditation standards, including necessary documentation and quality metrics.

  • Fosters teamwork, professionalism, and a positive, collaborative work environment that supports engagement and effective communication.

  • Assists the Director/Manager as needed with departmental operational responsibilities.

  • Manages and supports the vascular imaging lab as the designated Technical Director.

  • These responsibilities include but are not limited to: o Compliance with the IAC standards to include QC and QA documentation

  • Supervision of the technical staff and ancillary staff associated with US vascular testing.

  • Maintain training for staff to ensure protocols and reporting meet IAC accreditation standards

  • Assist Vascular Lab Medical Director with achieving and maintaining IAC accreditation.

Qualifications

Education:



  • High School graduate or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology.


Certifications/licenses:



  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • ARDMS, RVT


Experience:


Two years of supervisory experience in an acute care hospital imaging department preferred
