Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for maintaining high production, quality, and yields while ensuring a safe working environment. The role requires understanding and control of the production process, accurate record keeping, and general line maintenance and staffing.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Checking daily production orders to ensure customer orders are fulfilled
  2. Ensuring all positions are filled before production start-up
  3. Overseeing team member exercises and job rotation for ergonomics
  4. Monitoring machinery performance
  5. Ensuring workstations pass USDA Inspection
  6. Promoting daily safety and conducting safety meetings
  7. Managing shipments, inventory rotation, and product coding
  8. Communicating company benefits and policies to team members
  9. Encouraging and building team morale
  10. Training, retaining, and counseling team members
  11. Collaborating with other supervisors on processing operations
  12. Keeping records of reworked or returned products
  13. Providing ongoing education on quality importance
  14. Performing other duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma; further education or vocational training preferred
  • Experience: 1+ years in manufacturing; supervisory experience preferred; poultry experience and SAP knowledge are a plus
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills helpful
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills required
  • Travel: 1-5 trips per year
