Job Summary:
The primary focus of this position is to oversee the organization’s production operations. The Medical supervisor ensures that daily production schedules are met, productivity is tracked and quality systems are compliant.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The implementation and coordination of process improvements within IV/RV production
  • Developing and maintaining process controls
  • Problem solving and implementation of corrective actions
  • Continuous improvement of all IV/RV processes
  • Identifying process variables within medical equipment
  • Scheduling Operators daily work assignments, training of employees and coordinating all shift activities while promoting a positive and safe work environment
  • Daily compiling and recording of all production data
  • Participate in staff selection, coach, motivate, develop, train and discipline staff. Conduct annual performance reviews for all direct reports. Assist in setting performance objectives and development plans; monitor progress.
  • Emphasize training programs designed to enable staff to consistently execute all manufacturing processes with strict compliance to Quality and regulations.
  • Write new SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure) and review them for completion and accuracy. Audit and update existing SOPs as needed. Implement and communicate all changes to processes and procedures.
  • Conduct effective communication to the staff about process changes, production goals.
  • Resolve technical, material, equipment and miscellaneous problems that may impact production deadlines. Provide guidance and troubleshooting assistance as needed during a deviation in the production process
  • Operate in a LEAN manufacturing environment and strive to suggest process improvements

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Solid working knowledge of standard computer applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external customers
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve established outcomes. Understand other’s roles and empower one another to take responsibility to be successful. Demonstrate a collaborative interaction with peers to reach a common goal.
  • Pay close attention to detail in all aspects of the job

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree or 5+ years IV/RV plastics production experience in a supervisory capacity preferred
  • IV/RV manufacturing experience involving plastic inflation and release valve products

  • Frequent: Ability to wear personal protective equipment that may include some or all: safety glasses, lab coat, safety shoes, gloves, hearing protection, hair/beard covering. No make-up or nail polish permitted.

The work environment described is representative of what must be met by an employee successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The physical environment is indoors in a controlled manufacturing setting. The noise level may be moderate to loud.

Frequent use of personal protective equipment is required to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.

Medical or any position that accesses medical might be occasional: Frequent use of protective clothing is required to maintain clean environment.
