Job summary

Elliot Health System seeks a Supervisor Outpatient Phlebotomy to oversee phlebotomy and support departments across main campus and satellite sites in Manchester, Londonderry, Hooksett and Bedford. Responsibilities include scheduling, training, policy updates and budget collaboration.

Your role focuses on patient care, staff development, and ensuring compliance with state inspections while coordinating with clinical teams and business development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in medical or biological science preferred.
• ASCP certification preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years of laboratory experience required. Previous lead or supervisor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations of the phlebotomy and support departments, focusing on patient and staff needs.
• Supervise scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and efficient use of personnel.
• Oversee orientation and training of new personnel, nurses, PCTs, MAs and students.
• Maintain documentation of orientation and training activities and staff competency.
• Resolve staff performance issues and daily operational problems; inform Laboratory Support Manager.
• Develop staff skills to foster a team atmosphere and write/update policies and procedures.
• Prepare and adhere to the yearly budget in collaboration with the Laboratory Support Manager.
• Oversee off-site phlebotomy locations and Traveling Phlebotomy Services and ensure locations pass state inspections.
• Coordinate daily activities for phlebotomy stations and traveling teams; interact with clients with Business Development and Clinical Specialist.

Supervisor Outpatient Phlebotomy – Lab Department Non-Technical at Main Campus Hospital – Full-Time 40 Hours a week primarily 8AM-430PM but must be flexible. (Will primarily sit at main campus but requires travel to all outpatient sites as needed throughout Manchester, Londonderry, Hooksett and Bedford).

About the Elliot Lab

The Elliot Hospital Laboratory is a full-service laboratory offering both Clinical and Anatomical Pathology testing.The Clinical Laboratory operates 24 hours/day,7 days/week offering both stat and routine testing.TheAnatomical Pathology department operates Monday- Friday 7 am to 4 pm.

We conveniently provide services to patients and the community with 5 walk-in labs located in Manchester, Bedford, Hooksett and Londonderry. We also service 60 nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the area.

About The Job

Supervise the operations of and coordinates the activities within the phlebotomy and/or support departments, focusing on the needs of the patients, clients and staff ensuring accuracy from the point of specimen collection.

What You’ll Do

Oversee activities through observation and review daily. Focus on customer service; prioritize, identify and resolve problems maintaining open communication with clients.

Oversee the scheduling of personnel to provide adequate coverage and efficient use of personnel.

Oversee the orientation and training of new personnel, nurses, PCT's, MA's and students.

Maintain documentation of orientation and training activities.

Ensure maintenance of staff competency.

Resolve problems and issues related to staff behavior or performance as well as daily operations within the departments and informs Laboratory Support Manager

Develop the skills and abilities of staff members to assist building a team atmosphere.

Review, revise and write policies and procedures.

Document personnel performance evaluations, counseling and disciplinary action.

Prepare and adhere to the yearly budget, in collaboration with the Laboratory Support Manager.

Maintain bench skills to function efficiently in all designated areas.

Oversee off-site phlebotomy locations and Traveling Phlebotomy Services, including all staff activities.

Ensure all locations are up to date for state inspections, working with Laboratory Support Manager.

Coordinate daily activities for the operation of all phlebotomy stations and collects performed by Traveling phlebotomy team.

Interact with clients as needed, working with Business Development and Clinical Specialist.

What You’ll Need
