Job summary

Global Medical Response is seeking an Operations Supervisor for Dekalb County to supervise day-to-day EMS field operations, manage staffing and scheduling, and ensure equipment readiness. The role involves liaison work with patients, public safety agencies, and hospital partners.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years EMS field experience, EMT/Paramedic certification, and a current driver’s license with a clean record. Leadership experience and compliance with safety policies are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of EMS field experience.
  • FTO or other leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
  • 6 months in current operations.
  • EMT/Paramedic Certification.
  • State Driver's License and clean driving record per policy.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, BTLS/PHTLS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day EMS field operations and staffing.
  • Supervise, direct, and develop field staff; conduct evaluations.
  • Serve as liaison with patients, public safety agencies, hospitals, and other personnel.
  • Mentor employees and facilitate team development.
  • Coordinate staffing, shift calendars, and coverage.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce department policies and procedures.
  • Maintain equipment oversight, PCR review, and incident investigations.
  • Prepare reports and assist with recruitment and training; ensure compliance.

Operations Supervisor – Dekalb County

Supervisor Operations is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day operations which may include staffing, scheduling, ensuring maintenance of equipment and supplies, internal communications, budgetary considerations, outside agency interface, and community relations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  • Supervise, direct, and develop field staff to provide the highest possible level of patient care.
  • Maintain quality field operations through daily contact, oversight, communication, and evaluation.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and its patients, public safety agencies, training institutions, hospital representatives, and other applicable personnel.
  • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, provide disciplinary actions to assigned personnel, and facilitate individual and team development to drive positive results.
  • Work with other members of the Management and Supervisory team to minimize problems, correct staffing and scheduling issues, and continuously improve service.
  • Participate in the development, formulation, modification, and implementation of department policies, standards, regulations, and general operating guidelines and procedures associated with EMS delivery.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels for field units, manage shift calendars, and facilitate shift bids. Cover open shifts with appropriate employee assignments or by filling in as needed.
  • Supervise the effective operation, utilization, and maintenance of medical apparatus and equipment.
  • Review Patient Care Reports (PCRs) and other field paperwork for accuracy, ensuring that it is reconciled timely on a daily basis.
  • Thoroughly investigate incidents and complaints involving assigned units or personnel and resolve in the best manner possible.
  • Prepare reports and manage projects as assigned by the Operations Manager.
  • Assure that all necessary payroll is properly completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Assist with and engage in the recruitment and training of new employees.
  • Maintain employee training records and track employee certifications/accreditations for compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 3 years of EMS field experience.
  • Prior FTO or other leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
  • 6 months in current operations.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), with some advanced education preferred.
  • EMT/Paramedic Certification.
  • State Driver's License with driving record in compliance with GMR's Safety & Driving policy.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, BTLS/PHTLS Certifications.
