Workdays: Mon - Fri

Shift Hours: 07:00 AM - 04:00 PM

Job Description

Primary Responsibility: Supervise associates and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance crew at a large facility. Respond to escalated issues, emergency repair orders, and complaints promptly. Coordinate with contractors as needed.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform repairs and adjustments on refrigeration systems, doors, dock boards, pallet racks, sweepers, sprinkler systems, forklifts, pallet trucks, and electrical systems following OSHA standards.
  • Inspect forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment for OSHA compliance and operational standards.
  • Test, maintain, and evaluate equipment performance using instruments like voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges; calibrate HVAC equipment.
  • Review inspection and repair reports; observe work progress on major overhauls for efficiency and quality.
  • Inspect completed work for compliance with blueprints, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Guide associates in handling complex problems and resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
  • Review activity records related to production, payroll, and shipping to verify details, monitor work, and evaluate performance.
  • Supervise maintenance staff to ensure quality, deadlines, and procedures are met; correct errors or issues.
  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to ensure adequate staffing and effective response to workload fluctuations.
  • Assess training needs and arrange or provide appropriate instruction.

Experience and Education:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Certified in all RETA courses; external hires must complete all 8 courses within 24 months.
  • HAZMAT certification required.
  • At least 2 years of maintenance mechanic experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform skilled tasks and assist in work performance.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge.
  • Supervisory skills for maintenance work.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including on-call duties.
  • Willingness to mentor and develop team members.
  • Receptive to management development and continuous learning.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for long periods with interruptions.
  • Manual dexterity and physical activity including lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to travel and work in cold environments.
  • Use of electronic tools and effective communication skills.
